Bob's Update
Hi, This update is from Nancy Banks, I have to teach Bob how to use this site, until that happens I am going to be the one posting on this blog
Update on Bob's status. For those of you that have spent anytime with Bob lately will exclaim that he looks WONDERFUL. Bob is currently seeking treatment at OSU The James Cancer Center. The doctor there is very hopeful that she can help him. Bob has started an oral chemo therapy and is tolerating it very well. Bob is also using a holistic approach to fight his cancer. Some of the stuff he drinks... UGG... YUCK.. but dang it working.. This man LOOKS GREAT.
Bob sings high praises to Jonathan Morris DC and his Amish doctor.
Bob has been riding every weekend somewhere. Today we all rode at Oak Openings... wahoo.. it was beautiful... It was a Mid Ohio ride... double point ride!!!!
Update on the BOABH ride.... Joyce and Terry Moyer and myself are starting contacting vendors so can get sponsors for this adventure. If anyone has contact info for vendors, i.e. trailers, truck, horse supplies please email me at nanc@bright.net and we will contact them.
Bob has just bought a new saddle pad for his friend Chancer.... It is a special pad to reduce issues under the saddle. Stage Coast West gave Bob a super deal on this pad. Check out there web site... http://www.stagecoachwest.com/.
On the way home from Oak Openings today we had some excitement... Bob told all of us in the truck... um I don't have any brakes.. Ok.. I was sitting in the front seat of the truck thinking.. we are an hour from home, its late on Sunday and we have 5 horses in the trailer... oh jeezzz now what... Bob say's don't worry, I don't use brakes in my BIG TRUCK... oh yea he is a truck driver... That made me feel so much better NOT!!!! A big semi driving down the road and the driver doesn't use his brakes.... OK.... why does this give me heartburn... Well dear Bob got us home ok.. without brakes!!! There is always excitement when we are with Bob!!!
On the ride today we all went up the the watering hole... I had a hard time getting my horse Trigger to go in the water.... Bob comes up on Chance his horse... Chance goes right in... and keeps on going... and going... he wanted to go swimming... its only 50 degrees outside... hahah you should have seen Bob trying to get Chance out of the water!!! it was so funny..
Ok enough for today.. I will try very hard to keep everyone updated on Bob progress...

Bob's Horse Back Journey

I have created this blog for our dear friend Bob. Bob will be using this blog site to keep all his friends updated on his ride across America. Bob is a very sweet man who loves horses. Bob has been given the gift of a lifetime. Bob will be joining The Best of American By Horse Back cast and crew during their 5 month tour, starting in New Mexico and ending in Canada. Check out the web site. http://www.bestofamericabyhorseback.com/mexicotocanada.html.
Tom Seay from Best of America By Horseback and Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' and Exhibitors' Association (TWHBEA) www.twhbea.com have graciously sponsored Bob on the five month ride across america.
Bob has faced many challenges over the past several years. He has been told informed that he has less that six months to live due to Multiple Melanoma. Bob has beaten the odds, he has surpassed that six month mark, he has such a positive attitude, he told us he is not ready to die yet, he has trails to ride.
Please join Bob in this once in a life time adventure as he rides across American with his best friend his horse Chance.

We are hunting sponsors for this ride as Bob will need a truck and horse trailer with a living quarters.
God bless this man and his wife Judy.
Respectfully,
Nancy Banks
